Anton Froschauer (born August 26, 1963 in Baumgartenberg ) is an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). He has been the mayor of Perg since 2007 . From September 20, 2018 to September 18, 2019, he was a member of the Federal Council delegated by the Upper Austrian State Parliament . He has been a member of the Upper Austrian State Parliament since September 19, 2019.

Life

After elementary school in Baumgartenberg, Anton Froschauer attended the federal high school in Steyr and from 1977 to 1983 the federal high school in Perg . After military service in 1983/84, he was an executive officer at the regional gendarmerie command in Upper Austria from 1984 . from 1992 to 2007 he worked as a freelance trainer and coach.

He has been politically active in Perg since the 1980s , where he was a councilor, city party chairman in 1992 and deputy mayor in 1997. In 2007 he succeeded Hermann Peham as mayor of Perg, who held this office from 1985. In the municipal council and mayoral elections in Upper Austria in 2009 and 2015 , Froschauer won an absolute majority for the ÖVP Perg. In 2015 he succeeded Franz Hiesl as ÖVP district chairman in the Perg district . Froschauer is chairman of the Perg-Machland business park and a member of several community associations.

From September 20, 2018, he was a member of the Federal Council delegated by the Upper Austrian Landtag . He replaced Peter Oberlehner , who moved to the state parliament.

On September 18, 2019, Froschauer Gabriele Lackner-Strauss succeeded him as a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament, and Johanna Miesenberger took over his Federal Council mandate .
