Burgenland hospitals
The Burgenländische Krankenanstalten-Gesellschaft mb H. KRAGES has been the organizational merger of the state-owned general public hospitals of Burgenland , the nursing homes and the general health and nursing school in Oberwart since January 1st, 1993 .

The company is responsible for the commercial tasks, the technical tasks (construction technology, building services, medical technology), the personnel matters and other organizational matters including IT.
Legal Status
On January 1, 1993, the company took over from five departments of the Province of Burgenland the competence for planning and running the hospital and nursing homes. The company is 100% owned by the country.
Financial management
In 2011 (2001) KRAGES had a budget of around 156.7 (87.4) million euros. The hospitals spend around 1.1 million euros per year on food, with the aim of increasing the proportion of organic food to 40 percent by the end of 2019.

In 2011 (2001) at the four hospitals of the Burgenländische Krankenanstaltengesellschaft mbH, 778 (915) of 875 (1,007) systemized beds were actually used. 52,468 (38,199) patients and 114,662 (68,841) cases were treated as inpatients. A total of 1,679.8 (1,470) people were employed in this area. This makes the company the largest employer in the country.

Special Education Center Rust
The Curative Education Center Rust has two co-educational groups with six children each between the ages of around three and the end of compulsory schooling. The admitted children should be diagnosed with psychopathological symptoms and behavioral problems in order to initiate therapeutic measures.
