Gabriele von Schlippenbach ( pseudonyms : Herbert Rivulet , Herbert Rivutat , born October 22 . Jul / November 3, 1846 greg. In Fischröden (Izriede) at Durben / Kurland as Eleonore Elise Adelheid Emma Gabriele von der Ropp , † 20 July 1937 in Stolberg (Rhineland) was a German writer .
Life
Gabriele von Schlippenbach was a daughter of the landowner Theophil Freiherr von der Ropp. She grew up with nine siblings on her father's estate . After the estate was sold, the family moved to Libau in 1870 . In 1872 Gabriele married the assessor Gustav Freiherr von Schlippenbach. She lived with him until 1874 in Polangen near Memel , where her husband was estate manager. From 1877 the couple lived in Grobin , where Gustav von Schlippenbach worked as a court assessor, and from 1881 in Libau . Gustav von Schlippenbach died in 1891 after being relieved of his post as police chief and became seriously ill. Gabriele von Schlippenbach contributed to the maintenance of her family of three with literary work in the following years. Her works first appeared in German-language magazines in the Baltic region , and later also in book form. Gabriele von Schlippenbach later lived in Differdingen ( Luxembourg ) and most recently in Stolberg (Rhineland) .
Gabriele von Schlippenbach literary work includes novels - including the several editions published crime novel "Subotins heritage" - and stories .
