Gagik Petrosyan (born March 10, 1973 in the city of Stepanakert ) is a politician and member of parliament of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic .

life and career

After completing his school education, Gagik Petrosjan attended the State University of Nagorno-Karabakh in Stepanakert, where he graduated in 1994 as a teacher of history and English. From 1992 to 1999 he served in the army of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic and took part in combat operations in the military conflict with Azerbaijan . During this time he was deputy chief of staff, head of the physical exercise association and department head. After his discharge from the military, he founded the GAG ​​“Razmik +”

In 2000 he was elected as a member of the National Council of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic in the elections for the third National Assembly. Until 2005 he served as vice chairman of the committee on foreign relations. Even after the election to the fourth National Assembly on June 19, 2005, he was a member of the national parliament and was elected deputy chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations. On October 6, 2006, he was elected Chairman of the Production and Production Infrastructure Committee.

In 2010 he stood as a candidate for the Free Homeland party (Armenian հայրենիք Azat Hajreniq ) for election and was re-elected to the National Assembly on May 23, 2010. Since June 10, 2010, he has been chairman of the Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs. He is also a member of the board of the “Free Homeland” party and at the same time its parliamentary group leader. As a politician, he took part in international political conferences, discussions and seminars. He has also published articles and publications on international security issues.

Gagik Petrosyan is married and has two children.
