Gesine Dornblüth
Gesine Dornblüth (* 1969 in Lower Saxony ) is a German Slavist and radio journalist . She was from February 2012 to early 2017 as a foreign correspondent for Germany Radio in Moscow working as well as author and reporter for all broadcasters of the ARD . Since then, Dornblüth has been working with her colleagues in the journalist office for texts and tones .
Life
Dornblüth studied Slavic Studies and Journalism in Hamburg . She has been working as a freelance journalist since 1992, first for daily newspapers and later for radio, and founded the texte und toene office in Berlin together with her partner Thomas Franke . 1999 doctorate she specialized in Slavic philology about postmodern Russian poetry .
As a reporter, she reported from Russia , Ukraine , Georgia , Armenia , Azerbaijan , Moldova and the Balkans , produced everyday reports , long-term documentaries and political analyzes on regional conflicts, democratization and human rights . Since 2003, Dornblüth has been the sole author of more than 40 issues of the program “ Background ” on Deutschlandfunk, which is broadcast daily. She was one of the few freelance journalists who regularly traveled to the South Caucasus for ARD . She made a name for herself on the radio because “the journalistic work on site requires a high degree of research, a lot of reading about the historical context and at least Russian language skills”. On the slot Faces of Europe on Deutschlandfunk , she also illuminated everyday topics from the region in a one-hour report.
From February 2012 to the beginning of 2017 she worked as a foreign correspondent for Deutschlandradio in Moscow and also relocated there.
Since March 2017 she has been working as a journalist in the journalist office "Texte und Töne".
In 2017 she processed her experiences in Moscow in the radio feature “Drei Loch im Pappkafka” .
Gesine Dornblüth headed the style workshop at the Journalists 'Association in Berlin-Brandenburg, the regional association of the German Journalists' Association . She is the chairman of the admissions committee of this professional association . She was a lecturer for "Ethics in Journalism" at the International Journalists' College of the Free University of Berlin and in the Studienwerk of the Heinrich Böll Foundation .
Since 2003 she has written 60 issues of the daily program " Background " in the DLF as an author and contributor .

- 1999 Suchbild Germany , bimedial reportage award from SFB / ORB and Tagesspiegel
- 2001 Prix Europa -Hörfunkpreis (with Thomas Franke ) in the category "Current Affairs" for the feature Bruderkisses in Demjansk , which was broadcast on Deutschlandfunk.
- 2002 Marion-Gräfin-Dönhoff journalist scholarship as part of the international journalist program in Georgia
