La Goassn

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

La Goassn is a female vocal trio of new folk music .

history

Julia Hiemer (from Marktoberdorf ) and Judith Jandl, aged 24 in 2015, and 26-year-old Steffi Smailes knew each other from their musical training at the Bavarian Theater Academy August Everding in Munich . In particular, the Austrian Jandl had in her barely 1,000 inhabitants hometown ample contact with traditional folk music and operated in its peasant family typical house music . She had studied piano and opera singing at the Carinthian State Conservatory in Klagenfurt . She continued her studies in Vienna before she made friends with the two “locals” while studying musicals in Bavaria . On a beer whim, they contacted Martin Simma, the manager of Voxxclub , and offered themselves as a female variant of Voxxclub. Simma showed interest and shortly afterwards convinced herself of the potential of the young women, who not only made a difference in their vocals, but also the spirit of the new with their cheeky manner, their sexy styling, their inappropriateness exhibited by drinking ability and football madness and their open-minded mix of musical styles Embodied folk music.

Soon afterwards, they went into the studio to record twelve songs with a team of producers consisting of Hermann Niesig and the Schürzenjäger- experienced Rudolf Müssig and Christoph Leis-Bendorff. In addition to the cover version of Lucilectric's girl (here titled Weil I am a girl after the chorus ), the song Heimat by Anna Depenbusch , whom Jandl admires, was reinterpreted. The three women, who originally come from very different regions, identify particularly strongly with the content of the last-mentioned song. The group name La Goassn goes back to the southern German fashion drink “ Goaß Maß ”, which is mixed from a “blonde” beer, “dark brown” cola and “red” cherry liqueur and therefore matches the hair tones of the members. The group had their first TV appearance before the album was released in the Florian Silbereisen show The Best in Summer on July 11, 2015. One day after the release, on September 12, 2015, La Goassn performed two songs at the ARD premiere - Stadlshow , follow-up broadcast of the Musikantenstadl .

Steffi Smailes left at the beginning of 2016. She was replaced by Anetta Szabo, an Austrian with Hungarian roots. Jandl had studied with her in Vienna. Szabo recently entertained cruise participants on their world tour. In April, the women's group went on tour with its male counterpart Voxxclub.

style

From the record company Electrola , which belongs to the Universal group , the description “ Rhythm and Blues , Pop and Folk Music ” mix was given to the press. This has been adopted in many cases and, for example , given the addition of "soul-bluesy note in singing" in the online edition of the Tyrolean daily newspaper . There are also descriptions such as “folk music with beats and pop elements” or simply “ hits ” in the reports.

The lyrics are about joie de vivre, love adventures and feelings of home.

In the city show reviews , the singers were rated “convincing” because they appeared “coquettish” or relaxed in the broadcast, which was perceived as wooden.
