Ewald von Kleist Prize
The Ewald-von-Kleist Prize is a peace prize awarded by the Munich Security Conference (MSC; formerly Wehrkundetagung) since 2009 .
purpose
The prize is awarded to personalities in foreign and security policy who “have worked in a special way for peace and conflict resolution”. It is named after the resistance fighter against National Socialism, specialist publisher and founder of the military history conference Ewald-Heinrich von Kleist (1922–2013).
The Munich jeweler Maximilian Heiden designed and donated a silver medal with the inscription FRIEDEN DURCH DIALOG . The prize was awarded under this name from 2005 to 2008. It will be presented at a ceremony at the invitation of the Bavarian Prime Minister in the Kaisersaal of the Munich Residence .

- In 2008 the medal was awarded to a soldier in the Canadian Armed Forces who was wounded on an international peacekeeping mission. He was honored on behalf of all soldiers who risked their lives for peace.
