The Gakken Compact Vision TV Boy ( Jap. : TVボーイ, Hepburn TV Boi, only: Compact Vision TV Boy is a stationary called) game console , by Gakken developed and in October 1983 exclusively in Japan at a price of 8800 yen was published .

The system was a competitor for Cassette Vision of Epoch-sha being considered, whose sales accounted for at the time, over 70% of the Japanese console market.

The console was released months after the Nintendo Family Computer (Famicom) from Nintendo and the SG-1000 from Sega , which were only slightly more expensive, but much more powerful and offered a wider range of games. In addition, Epoch released the Cassette Vision Jr., which offered similar advantages as the Famicom and the SG-1000 and was cheaper. These factors led to the fact that the Gakken Compact Vision TV Boy was already unattractive for buyers at the time of publication due to its too high price and too few games, which was reflected in low sales figures. The console is now considered a rare collector's item among collectors and retro gamers .
