Carina Laschober-Luif

Carina Laschober-Luif (* 26. October 1981 in Hartberg as Carina Luif ) is an Austrian politician of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP). She has been a member of the Burgenland State Parliament since February 17, 2020 .

Life

education and profession

After finishing elementary and secondary school in Pinkafeld, Carina Luif attended the higher federal college in Oberwart , where she graduated in 2001 . She then began studying at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences , which she completed in 2008 as a graduate engineer with a thesis on the resting and sleeping behavior of sows in different farrowing systems . At the same time, from 2005 onwards, she pursued a teaching degree for agricultural and forestry vocational schools and middle and high schools at the University of Agricultural and Environmental Education , which she completed in 2008 as a qualified pedagogue.

From 2011 to 2013 she worked for the Genuss Region Österreich association and in 2014/15 for the regional agricultural department in Oberwart. Since 2015 she has been running a farm and teaching as a seminar farmer. From 2017, she received two silver and two gold medals for her farmhouse bread.

politics

Laschober-Luif is a member of the Chamber of Commerce and has been a district farmer of the Burgenland Chamber of Agriculture since 2018 , as well as a substitute member of the Pinkafeld municipal council . In the Bauernbund she is the local chairwoman in Pinkafeld, deputy district chairwoman in the Oberwart district and a member of the Burgenland regional farmers' council . In October 2019 she was elected regional party chairman for the ÖVP Burgenland at the regional party conference .

In the early state elections in Burgenland 2020 , she ran behind top candidate and state party chairman Thomas Steiner and Melanie Eckhardt in third place on the state list and fourth in the state electoral district 5 (Oberwart). On February 17, 2020 it was in the constituent meeting of the XXII. Legislative period as a member of the Burgenland Landtag . In the state parliament she became the chairwoman of the agricultural committee and a member of the environment committee, in the ÖVP state parliament club she acts as area spokesperson for agriculture, forestry, the environment and climate protection.
