Walter Temmel (born October 28, 1961 in Bildein ) is an Austrian contract employee and politician ( ÖVP ). Temmel has been a member of the Burgenland state parliament since 2015 and mayor of the municipality of Bildein since 1993. Before that, he was a member of the state parliament from 2008 to 2010 and a member of the Austrian Federal Council from 2010 to 2015 .

Life

Temmel attended business school after primary and secondary school and is employed as a contract employee.

Temmel has a daughter and a son and lives with his family in Bildein.

He was also elected mayor of Bildein in 1993 and is district chairman of the Austrian Association of Municipalities . Temmel moved up on December 11, 2008 for Werner Falb-Meixner, who had moved to the state government. He represented the ÖVP in the Agriculture Committee and the Environment Committee and was area spokesman for regional development and cross-border cooperation. After the state elections in 2010 Temmel resigned from the state parliament on June 23, 2010, but took over a mandate in the Federal Council for the Burgenland ÖVP . He finally resigned from the Federal Council after the 2015 state elections in order to be sworn in again as a member of the state parliament.
