Regina Petrik (born November 9, 1963 in Vienna ) is an Austrian politician ( Die Grünen ). She has been a member of the Burgenland State Parliament since 2015 . and since 2013 state spokeswoman for the Green Burgenland.

In 2010 Petrik, whose mother Eva Petrik started for the ÖVP in Vienna under Erhard Busek , began her political work with the Greens in Burgenland as a career changer. Before that, she last implemented her socio-political commitment as Vice President of Catholic Action .

For private reasons, she moved from Vienna to Eisenstadt in 1994 and in 2010 she joined state politics as state manager of the Greens in Burgenland . In 2012 she became a councilor in the state capital Eisenstadt, a member of the examination committee and a member of the Kleinhöflein municipal district committee . Petrik has been a member of the federal board of the Greens Austria since September 2012 and she became state spokeswoman for the Greens.

In 2014 she resigned from the management in order to gain a deeper understanding of the needs of the Burgenland voters through various simple jobs. In 2015, she ran as the top candidate of the Greens in the state elections and received the second seat of the Greens in the Burgenland state parliament, she was again spokeswoman for the Burgenland Greens. On April 6, 2019, she was elected the Greens' top candidate for the 2020 state election, in which the Greens again received two mandates in the Burgenland state parliament with 6.72% and Petrik thus continued her function as a member of the state parliament.

Regina Petrik was Deputy Federal Spokesperson for the Austrian Greens Werner Kogler from February 2018 to January 2019 .

education and profession

Elementary school, grammar school, BORG for students of music in Vienna and study of educational sciences . Then she continued her education at the Academy for Social Management. For 20 years, Petrik worked as an adult educator, educational advisor and mediator. In her youth she was involved in the Catholic youth group , where she also held a position in the presidency. She was a volunteer in extracurricular child, youth and family work.

Private

Regina Petrik is the daughter of the ÖVP politician Eva Petrik and the mother of the former spokeswoman for the Young Greens and now non-party politician Flora Petrik and two other children. She lives in Eisenstadt.
