Wolfgang Sodl

Wolfgang Sodl (born September 18, 1963 in Olbendorf ) is an Austrian politician ( Social Democratic Party of Austria ). From 2005 to 2010 he was a member of the Burgenland Federal Council . Since 2010 he has been a member of the Burgenland State Parliament .

Life

After attending the primary school in Olbendorf (1970–1974), the secondary school (1974–1978) and the polytechnic course, Sodl attended the telecommunications mechanic school (1979–1982). Since 1982 he has worked as an employee in various positions at Post Telekom Austria.

Sodl has been a member of the municipality board of the municipality of Olbendorf since 1997, deputy mayor of the municipality of Olbendorf since 2002, local party chairman of the SPÖ Olbendorf since 2002, member of the local committee of the SPÖ Olbendorf since 1995, member of the district committee of the SPÖ Güssing since 1996, member of the district control committee of the SPÖ Güssing since 2004 and member of the state control committee of the SPÖ Burgenland since 2005. In the municipal council elections in Burgenland 2012 Sodl was elected mayor of Olbendorf. Sodl was a member of the Federal Council from October 25, 2005 to June 23, 2010.
