Kurt Maczek (born April 9, 1955 ) is an Austrian politician of the SPÖ .

Life

After attending the BRG Oberschützen , he completed a degree at the University of Graz , which he completed with the award of the academic degree Magister . From 1979 he taught as a teacher at the HTL Pinkafeld .

In the 1969/70 season Maczek debuted as a goalkeeper in the first team of SC Pinkafeld in Burgenland division. In the mid-1970s he played with SC Pinkafeld for several seasons in the Regionalliga Ost . After the end of his football career, he acquired the UEFA A license and then worked as a coach at SV Oberwart .

Kurt Maczek was councilor of the municipality of Pinkafeld from 1997 , in 2000 he was appointed vice mayor and in 2002 he was mayor .

He has been a member of the Burgenland Landtag since October 25, 2005 and in the Landtag area spokesman for associations, innovation (technology, research, ICT) and village renewal. On February 17, 2020, he was elected Third State Parliament President with 19 out of 36 votes .
