Ewald Pfleger
Ewald Pfleger (born May 6, 1955 in Ollersdorf in Burgenland ) is an Austrian rock musician and music producer. He became known as the guitarist of the Austrian band Opus , which celebrated an international success with his composition Live Is Life .
He learned guitar, piano and accordion at an early age and founded his first band Smiling at the age of 13 . From 1973 he studied geography and history at the University of Vienna for five years and was involved in founding Opus. Ewald Pfleger has lived in Graz since 1978 with his wife Andrea and son Paul ( Stereoface ).
In addition to his work at Opus, he also produced songs by KGB ( Kurt Gober Band ) and had a number one hit with Motorboot in 1984 . In 1993 he opened the Recorder Music Studio. On August 29, 2008 his first solo album “Skyland” was released, on which guest contributions by many well-known musicians such as Wolfgang Ambros and Gert Steinbäcker can be heard.
In 2009 he received the Great Decoration of Honor of the State of Styria .
