Gal Uchovsky ( Hebrew גל אוחובסקי; * 1958 in Hadera ) is an Israeli screenwriter , journalist and film producer .

biography

In 1982 Uchovsky began his career as a journalist for various newspapers. He gained attention through studies by politicians such as former Israeli Prime Minister Ezer Weizman and then American presidential candidate Bill Clinton .

In 1988 he met his current life partner Eytan Fox , an Israeli director. From then on he tried to develop and realize film projects with his partner. In the most successful Israeli movie of 1994, Das Lied der Siren (Shirat Ha'Sirena), he was still jointly responsible for the music, but this changed with later productions, as he now also tried his hand as a screenwriter. It should be a very successful collaboration with Eytan, and the award-winning films Yossi & Jagger and Walk on Water were made . Together they often produced films on the subject of homosexuality. Uchovsky is heavily involved in the lesbian and gay movement.
