from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Galienus Entringer (* before 1547; † 1579 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) was a German painter.

Life

Entringer lived in Freiburg, where he is documented as a painter from 1547. In 1565 he was attested there as a member of the council, but one can assume that this activity lasted for several years. Since 1572 he was a guild master.

In 1548 he painted a Coronation of Mary on the triumphal arch of the Freiburg Minster . In 1559 he painted a dance of death on the front of the Freiburg town hall , but in 1560 he had to paint over it again with pictures from the life of King Philip of Macedonia .
