The Gambacorta Peak is a 1,840 m high mountain in the West Antarctic Queen Elizabeth Land . In the southern section of the Neptune Range in the Pensacola Mountains, it rises 6 km east of Mount Kaschak .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1956 to 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1965 after Francis Michael Gambacorta (1913-2000), captain of the transport ship USS Wyandot for construction the Ellsworth station at the beginning of the International Geophysical year (1957-1958).
