Gamboru (or Gamburu ) is a small town in Borno in northeastern Nigeria near the border with Cameroon .

  • On September 28, 2013, 27 people were killed in attacks by the Boko Haram in two suburbs of Gamboru, Fulatari and Kanumburi .
  • At least 14 people died in a suicide attack on a mosque in Gamboru on January 4, 2018. Only the muezzin survived.
