Passage grave Gladsax 2
The passage grave Gladsax 2 is located on the side road that leads from Gladsax in a northerly direction to the coast to Baskemölla . Gladsax is located five kilometers west of Simrishamn in Skåne in Sweden . The passage grave is a form of Neolithic megalithic systems , which consists of a chamber and a structurally separated, lateral passage. This form is primarily found in Denmark, Germany and Scandinavia, as well as occasionally in France and the Netherlands.
The passage grave ( swedish gang handle ) was built around 3500 BC. Built by the carriers of the Funnel Beaker Culture (TBK). The hill is only 1.5 meters high and 16 meters long. The stones around were placed around the mound of earth. The corridor faces southeast and has some preserved bearing stones.
On the capstone there are Bronze Age rock carvings that form axes , ships, an animal, various symbols and bowls .
The megalithic complex excavated in 1978 turned out to be looted. In front of the corridor, some ax fragments and arrowheads made of flint , amber beads and a large amount of pottery shards and burned human bones were found.
Nearby is the Jarlsdösen dolmen .
