Garrett Wareing (born August 31, 2001 ) is an American actor .

Life

Born in 2001, Wareing moved with his family from his hometown College Station to Los Angeles as a child . His sister Mackenzie Wareing is also an actress. Wareing also has a brother named Mason. While in high school theater class, Wareing discovered his passion for acting. Wareing later met the talent scout Nikki Pederson , who signed him up for a competition of the International Modeling and Talent Association in 2013. Wareing has received several awards here, including Pre-Teen Male Model of the Year. After this, some Hollywood agents became aware of him, and Wareing took acting lessons from Max Decker .

In the 2014 film The Choir - Voices of the Heart , Wareing starred in the lead role of Stet, a talented, twelve-year-old exceptional singer who struggled at an elite music boarding school. The film was star cast, and Dustin Hoffman played the choirmaster in the film. His sister Mackenzie Wareing played his half-sister Stephanie in the film. Rooter Wareing, his father, played a priest in a funeral scene. For his work in film, Wareing received the Creative Coalition Spotlight Initiative Award at the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival together with Dustin Hoffman, Kathy Bates , Eddie Izzard , Josh Lucas , Debra Winger and Kevin McHale . In the film Independence Day: The Return , Wareing played Bobby, a boy who sought refuge with a family when aliens attacked Earth.
