Gary Husband
Gary Husband (born June 14, 1960 in Leeds ) is a British fusion musician ( drums , piano ). According to Ian Carr , he treats his two instruments equally and "is technically brilliant on both."
Live and act
Husband took piano lessons from the age of seven; his father, a flautist and composer, taught him music theory. He turned to drums when he was ten. He has been based in London since the late 1970s , where he worked with Gordon Beck , Jim Mullen and Barbara Thompson . He has toured several times with Allan Holdsworth and participated in recordings such as IOU and Wardenclyffe Tower . His solo album The Things I See takes up Holdsworth's music. He founded his own bands like Force Majeure (with Jerry Goodman ) and Drive . He also worked with John McLaughlin , Billy Cobham , Ken Stubbs , Olga Konkova , Level 42 , Jack Bruce and in Germany with the NDR Bigband and the hr-Bigband . For several years he has also formed a trio with Christof Lauer and Michel Godard . In 2012 the album Dirty & Beautiful Volume 2 was released , on which McLaughlin and bassist Mark King participated.
