Gary MacKenzie (born October 15, 1985 in Lanark ) is a Scottish football player who is under contract with FC Peterhead .
Career
Gary MacKenzie played in the Glasgow Rangers Youth Academy . In the 2003/04 season he completed his only two competitive games against FC Motherwell and Dunfermline Athletic as a substitute for the Rangers . In June 2006, the 20-year-old MacKenzie moved to the Scottish second division club FC Dundee . With the club he won in 2010 the Challenge Cup in the final against Inverness Caledonian Thistle . By the end of the 2009/10 season , the team from Dundee missed twice as runners-up in the first division. In May 2010 MacKenzie left the club with eight other players. He then signed a contract with the English third division club Milton Keynes Dons . In his first season in England, the center-back saw two red cards in 28 games. In the play-off games for promotion to the 2nd division he was defeated with his new team against Peterborough United . Also in the following season he saw two reds. In addition, promotion in the play-offs against Huddersfield Town was not achieved. From March to May 2013 MacKenzie was awarded to the second division club Blackpool FC . During the summer break he was signed by the Seasiders. In the 2013/14 season he was a regular in Blackpool. He was then awarded to Bradford City . Without another use in the Blackpool jersey, he moved to the Doncaster Rovers from the third division in May 2015 . After playing 15 games in the first half of the season, he was loaned out to Notts County from January to February 2016 . After his return he was used four times for the Rovers. In July 2016 he moved back to Scotland to FC St. Mirren . With the second division team, he was promoted to the Scottish Premiership in 2018 .
