Bernhard Heininger

Bernhard Heininger (born August 18, 1958 in Aschaffenburg ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian .

Life

From 1978 to 1984 he studied at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg : Economics , Catholic theology and pedagogy . From 1984 to 1986 he had a doctoral scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation . From 1986 to 1996 he was assistant at the chair for New Testament exegesis in Würzburg . After receiving his doctorate in 1989 as Dr. theol. (summa cum laude), University of Würzburg and his habilitation in 1995, he represented the chair for "Catholic Theology I - Biblical Theology" at the Faculty of Cultural Studies, University of Bayreuth from 1996 to 1999 ; Call refused. Since 1999 he has taught as professor for New Testament exegesis at the Biblical Institute, University of Würzburg. From 2001 to 2007 he was a member of the Graduate School 278 "Perception of the Gender Difference in Religious Symbol Systems". From October 2002 to April 2007 he was the first speaker of the Graduate School 278 "Perception of the Gender Difference in Religious Symbol Systems". From May 2004 to June 2009 he was Dean of Studies. From May 2005 to April 2007 he headed the DFG project "Text-critical edition of Paralipomena Jeremiou". From September 2010 to September 2013 he was in charge of the project "Exegesis Workshop: New Testament Apocrypha" (funded by the Robert Bosch Foundation ).

His main research interests are biblical and extra-biblical fictional literature (parables, ancient novels, etc.), Lukan double works, Paul, ancient religious history, ancient religious psychology (dream and vision in the NT and its environment), gender and religion; Women in early Christianity, Jewish and Christian pseudepigraphs / apocrypha and gnosis.
