Gastón Rodríguez Maeso (born March 23, 1992 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

According to his club, the offensive player Gastón Rodríguez, who is 1.87 meters tall, is the brother of the soccer player Maxi Rodríguez who is currently (as of May 2014) playing for Grêmio Porto Alegre . He was already in the Clausura 2009 in the first division squad of Club Atlético Peñarol . In that half series he ran in ten games in the Primera División , where he was nine times in the starting line-up. However, he did not succeed in scoring.

He has been a member of the Montevideo Wanderers since at least Apertura 2011 . In the 2011/12 season he played 17 league games there and scored three goals, in 2012/13 he played in 21 matches in the Primera División and scored twice in the opposing goal. He then played 32 league games in the 2013/14 season and contributed twelve goals to winning the 2014 Clausura. He was also used at the start of the season in the two games of the Copa Sudamericana 2013 . In the 2014/15 season he came to the train 24 times (seven goals) in the Primera División and seven times (two goals) in the Copa Libertadores 2015 . During the 2015/16 season, 27 further premier league appearances and 19 goals followed. He was Uruguayan first division top scorer this season together with Junior Arias . Peñarol signed him again at the end of August 2016. For the "Aurinegros" he played ten first division games (two goals) in the 2016 season. Another league appearance (no goal) followed in the current 2017 season (as of February 11, 2017).
