history
At today Laurentiusstraße extended since the Middle Ages the Bocker Well , that was also home early an inn. Here the churchgoers could strengthen themselves after the mass before the long way home. The name of the estate was Am Bock (= Am Bogen) because the strunde made a sharp curve here . In 1905, the innkeeper Jean Kierdorf commissioned the architect Ludwig Bopp to plan a new building to close the gap between the newly built town hall and its stables. The city took over the planning costs. Bopp built a building in the classical styleStyle. To the east, he designed the stables there into a ballroom. An archway was built between the town hall and the inn, through which the path led to the Maria Hilf hospital above .
