Former inn to the golden deer

The Gasthof Zum golden Hirsch is a listed building in the town of Weißenfels in Saxony-Anhalt . In the local register of monuments , the building is listed as a monument under registration number 094 08943 .

The building with the address Nikolaistraße 10 in Weißenfels is a former inn . The first mention of the building was due to a change of ownership in 1568, at that time still as Gasthof Zum güldenen Creuchte . The renaming to the golden stag took place in 1712. The town hall of Weißenfels and the house of the working people were in the building until 1985. After that it was used again until 1995 as an inn under the name of the Golden Hirsch , since then the building has been empty and deteriorates more and more.

The building was built in the middle of the 16th century as two separate houses. This can be seen from the number of axes in the building sections. While the eastern part of the building has six axes, the western part has three axes. During the conversion to an inn, the two buildings were combined to create more space for the dining room on the ground floor .
