Gaudenzio Marconi (often also Guglielmo Marconi, ) (* March 12, 1841 , † 1885 ) was a Swiss photographer of Italian origin.

Life

He became known for his artistic nudes . These photographs were used as templates for the work of famous artists such as Auguste Rodin .

Marconi was born in French-speaking Switzerland to parents of Italian origin. He played a role in the development of early photography. In the late 1860s he enrolled as a photographer at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris. His specialty was nude photography. His models very often assumed poses that were taken over from paintings or sculptures.

In the 1870s he moved to Brussels, where he continued his work.
