Kang Je-gyu (born December 23, 1962 in Anyang ) is a South Korean film director .

Kang is known in Korea as a specialist in action-packed commercial cinema.

Shiri with Kim Yoon-jin and Choi Min-sik is considered the first Korean action film in Hollywood style in 1999 and broke the records at the South Korean box office at the time.

Brotherhood - When Brothers Must Shoot Each Other 2004, often compared to Saving Private Ryan by Steven Spielberg , a war film about the Korean War , drew ten million viewers to South Korean theaters.
