He made his debut for the reserve team FC Metz B playing in the fifth division on May 24, 2014 , when he defeated CSO Amneville in the 80th place in the 2-0 win on the 26th match day of the CFA-2 season 2013/14 . On May 23, 2015, he scored his first goal for the reserve team in the league game in a 4-3 win on matchday 30 in the second leg against Jura Sud Foot . Hein made eight appearances this season and scored one goal. At the end of the season he rose again with the team in the fifth division. He made 25 appearances in the 2015/16 season and scored seven goals.

Hein received his first professional contract on May 23, 2016. On September 21, 2016, he made his professional debut in the 3-0 home defeat on the sixth match day of the first division season 2016/17 against Girondins Bordeaux . On December 3, 2016, he scored his first Ligue 1 goal on matchday 16 in the home game against Olympique Lyon , but the game was abandoned after the Lyon goalkeeper, Anthony Lopes , was hit by a firecracker. Hein made two appearances in the league cup this season, one in the national cup competition and 13 appearances in Ligue 1.

At the end of August 2017, Hein was awarded for one season to the second division club FC Tours . He played for the club in 20 games (four goals) and was relegated from Ligue 2 at the end of the season. In the summer of 2018, Hein returned to FC Metz.
