Gabriel Kicsid

Gabriel Kicsid , also Gavril and Gábor Kicsid , (born April 2, 1948 in Imeni ) is a former Romanian handball player . He played in the left back space and was world champion twice.

Kicsid started playing handball at the school and was active for Știința and Steaua Bucharest , with whom he won 12 national titles. His greatest success at club level was winning the 1976/77 European Cup with Steaua.

For the Romanian national team , Kicsid played 205 international matches in which he scored 521 goals. Both at the 1970 World Cup in France and at the 1974 World Cup in the GDR, he was able to win the world title with Romania. At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, Kicsid was third with the Romanian national team and second at the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal.
