Gazi ( Greek Γάζι [ ˈɣazi ] ( n. Sg. )) Is a Greek city and the administrative seat of the municipality of Malevizi in the north of the island of Crete . Gazi has 14,640 inhabitants, 12,606 of whom live in the core city (2011).

The city is located west of the Cretan capital Heraklion , about 6 km from the port. To the motorway A 90 there are km south 1, to the sea to the north at Skafidaras and Agios Panteleimon km approx. 2
Economy and Infrastructure
The main livelihood of the residents is agriculture, especially wine and olives. Oil and raisins are produced. There is a primary school, a grammar school and a medical center in the village.
