The banded lady's slipper ( Cypripedium fasciolatum ) is a species of the genus Cypripedium in the orchid family (Orchidaceae).

The banded lady's slipper is a perennial plant with a short, thick rhizome that reaches heights of 30 to 45 centimeters. The three to four, rarely up to six leaves measure 8 to 20 × 4.5 to 12 centimeters. They are oval in shape, pointed at the end, the leaf blade is glabrous on both sides, the edge ciliate. The flowers appear singly, rarely two per plant. The stem is hairy in the upper area, the flower stalk and ovary are densely covered with reddish brown glandular hair. The fragrant flowers reach a diameter of up to 12 centimeters. The upper outer tepals and the lateral inner tepals have distinct brown or dark purple nerves on a light yellow background, the latter are not twisted. The lip is pale yellow with maroon spots and 4 to 7.3 inches long.

Flowering time is from April to June.

Occurrence

The banded lady's slipper occurs in China in Sichuan and Hubei in sparse forests, in bushes and grasslands on weathered limestone at altitudes of 1650 to 2500 meters.
