The Gäu-Neckar-Alb memorial network

The Gäu-Neckar-Alb Memorial Association, based in Horb am Neckar, is a working group organized in the form of an association for 13 mainly voluntary memorial projects on the Upper Neckar.

history

In April 2010 the association of 9 commemoration projects was founded as a pilot project for the professionalization of small and medium-sized memorials. In 2011, a position for the project was created in the district office of the Horb Adult Education Center. The association was initially financially supported by the state center for political education with a total of 14,000 euros and from 2013 for a further three years by the Baden-Württemberg Foundation with a total of 60,000 euros. According to the association's evaluation in 2016, it is institutionally funded by the state of Baden-Württemberg . Since 2017 this has been 35,000 euros a year. In order for a permanent is office financed. Other sponsorships include the Stuttgart Lehrhaus Foundation and the Upper Swabian Electricity Works Association .

tasks

Networking of the voluntary member organizations, the coordination of the volunteers on site, the implementation of central youth guide meetings, the organization of events and the issuing of publications form the focus of the work.

Publications

The association magazine Gedenkstätten-Rundschau publishes a. a. the research results of its member organizations on regional history. The memorial association publishes conference volumes on its cultural-historical conferences.
