history

On April 5, 1813, there was a battle between Prussia and Russia with 20,000 men on one side and France with 35,000 men on the other. The battle near Möckern was won by the allies Prussia and Russia despite the inferior troop strength.

The memorial stone near Ladeburg was a gift from the Baron von Münchhausen to the Ladeburg war club in memory of the battle that took place in this area. In 2010 the memorial stone slowly threatened to fall apart. The local mayor of Ladeburg then applied to the city of Gommern for the restoration of the monument.
