Stajićevo prison camp

The Stajićevo camp ( Logor Stajićevo ) was a working farm in Livade at Stajićevo near Zrenjanin ( Serbia ), where Croatian prisoners of war and civilians during Croatia war were imprisoned in 1992 by Serbian authorities. Prisoners were also transferred from the camp to the Sremska Mitrovica prison camp. According to various testimonies, between 1,500 and 6,500 people were held there. The International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) gives the number of prisoners 1,700 people.

The prison camp was mentioned by the ICTY in the court case against Serbian President Slobodan Milošević . Witnesses who survived said they were beaten and shocked with electric batons in the camp. According to the statements, units of the Beli Orlovi were also active in the camp.
