The ghost painter is an Attic vase painter of the black-figure style named with an emergency name .

The ghost painter (English Wraith Painter ) painted not only lekyths but mainly droop bowls . His works are from the time after 540 BC. To apply. Its high-quality black-figure friezes in the handle zone of the bowls are striking. He is one of the few artists of this style who does not belong to the group of Rhodos 12264 . He got his emergency name because of his often somewhat insubstantial looking figures. He painted a special form of the kylix , in which the usual cup foot was replaced by the usual feet for small master cups . He then painted these bowls in the style of droop bowls.
