Gejza Valent

Gejza Valent (born October 3, 1953 in Prague ) is a former Czech discus thrower who competed for Czechoslovakia in the 1980s .

In 1982 he was sixth at the European Athletics Championships in Athens , and in 1983 he won the bronze medal at the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki .

A fifth place at the 1986 European Championship in Stuttgart was followed by a ninth place at the 1987 World Cup in Rome. At the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, he came in sixth place, and at the 1990 European Championship in Split, he was ninth.

In 1987 and 1989 he became national champion. He set his personal best of 69.70 m on August 26, 1984 in Nitra .

Gejza Valent started for the AK Olomouc.
