Geldidee was a monthly business magazine from the Bauer Media Group that was published from 1998 to 2009. The editorial office was initially located in Hamburg and later in Düsseldorf . The founding editor-in-chief was Gerhard Kromschröder , who handed this position over to Rolf Bier in 1998. In 2003 the editorial staff of around 30 were completely dismissed, after which the magazine was temporarily taken over by the former Capital boss Ralf-Dieter Brunowsky in Colognebefore the editors of "Das Wertpapier" took over this task. The last editor-in-chief was Christian Fälschle. The magazine was discontinued with the 04/2009 issue. The sold circulation decreased from 136,586 copies in the fourth quarter of 1998 to 133,145 copies in the fourth quarter of 2008.

Content

The money idea was divided into four major thematic blocks:

Financial plan and career

Topics in this part were, on the one hand, old-age pensions and long-term asset accumulation (such as savings plans) as well as insurance, including articles on home ownership and living. On the other hand, this section contained articles on questions about careers and further training.

Money, taxes, law

News, information and prices on German and international stock corporations and indices were presented here for investors. Tax savings and reporting on developments in legislation were also an integral part of this section.

debate

Geldidee reported here on political developments in Berlin. Political projects, resolutions and backgrounds were examined in more detail in this part.

Life

In this section the magazine reported on lifestyle, travel and trends.

Internet

In March 2007 the magazine redesigned its online portal as a separate medium from the print magazine. Current news, background reports and up-to-the-second rates were an integral part of the online reporting. The money idea on the web offered more than 230,000 stocks, funds, certificates, warrants, bonds and exchange rates.
