Moneymaker blade

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The moneymaker's blade

The money maker blade is a small right side blade of the Aspenbach to the upper Wieslauf in the Welzheimer forest with a rock grotto. It is located a few hundred meters east of Kaisersbach- Schmalenberg and about 1.4 km north of the Wieslaufkehre at the Welzheimer Laufenmühle .

It has sunk into the Upper Stubensandstein and is created on a grotto-like hollow valley with a horseshoe-shaped floor plan, which has the following dimensions: width approx. 14 m, height approx. 5 m and depth approx. 7 m. The grotto was formed when softer layers under more resistant sandstones eroded and were cleared out. The blocks that regularly come loose from the ceiling of the cave often only remain further down in the blade. The approximately 0.9 hectare site has been designated as a large natural monument and a protected geotope. The name suggests a possible hiding place for counterfeiters ; However, details are not known.
