The bricked stone is a rock formation on an unnamed 601 meter high mountain in the Western Ore Mountains near Aue . The rock group is largely overgrown with trees and is located in the southwest of the city between the Zwickauer Mulde and the neighboring town of Zschorlau . The mountain with the masonry stone is one of the limiting mountain ranges of the Au valley basin.

Name and location description

The name of the rock group is derived from its appearance, as the granite layers drop steeply like a stone wall in several mutually offset steps, especially towards the northeast. The vertical walls reveal typical weathering shapes with rounded edges, which are also called wool sacks . Large parts of the mountain are densely overgrown with spruce, pine, red beech or English oak . The Zwickauer Mulde flows around the eastern foothills of the mountain . On the banks of this section of the river there is a loose residential area and some factories.

The northern slope is developed with the settlement houses of the Neudörfel area and some allotments; it is bordered by the Zschorlaubach .

The western foothills of the masonry stone extends into the neighboring town of Zschorlau.
