Gemini Five is a Swedish hard rock and sleazer rock band from Stockholm .
history
Tin Star and Slim Pete had been in the band Plaster until 2001, when they joined forces with Hot Rod, who had previously been to the US, and Snoopy from Stockholm. After first appearances in the Swedish capital, they already had a record deal after half a year. The musical roots of the band are in the 70s and 80s with bands like The Sweet and Kiss . Their first single was a hard rock version of Dead or Alive's hit You Spin Me Round in 2003 , with which they had a single hit in the Swedish charts. The debut album Babylon Rockets and also the successor Black Anthem two years later could not build on their success.
In 2007 they started work on their third album, Sex Drugs Anarchy . This time Kory Clarke from Trouble and Sweet and London from Crashdïet worked as songwriters. The album received good reviews and brought Gemini Five to the album charts for the first time. At the Swedish Metal Awards , the album won in the Glam / Sleaze category. It was also published in other European countries and in Japan.
Due to disputes about musical direction, the collaboration with founding member Snoopy ended before the album was released. Afterwards, various musicians took the place of guitarist, before they were again permanently cast in 2009 with Tom Wouda.
