Prosecutor General of the Republic of Lithuania

Public Prosecutor General of the Republic of Lithuania (lit.Lietuvos Respublikos generalinis prokuroras ) is the law enforcement body of the Republic in Lithuania and performs tasks alongside the judiciary. He heads the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Lithuania . Deputy Public Prosecutors General and Senior Public Prosecutors are assigned to him.

A lawyer with legal work experience of not less than 10 years and not younger than 35 years is appointed by the President with the approval of Seimas for 5 years as Attorney General and his deputy.

The Prosecutor General (or his deputy) has the right to attend meetings of Seimas , the President and the Government of Lithuania and to propose to the Senate Chairman of the Supreme Court the application of the law and other legal acts, to attend and to give his opinion.
