Kazys Pėdnyčia

Kazys Pėdnyčia (* 6. November 1949 in Plaskūnai , services Municipal Kruonis , kaišiadorys district municipality ) is a Lithuanian lawyer, lawyer , former Attorney General of Lithuania .

education

From 1956 to 1960 Kazys Pėdnyčia attended the Plaskūnai elementary school, from 1960 to 1964 the eight-year school Kalviai and from 1964 to 1967 the Kruonis middle school. After graduating from high school, he completed military service in the Soviet army . From 1967 to 1972 he studied law at the Law Faculty of Vilnius University and graduated as a lawyer .

Career

From 1971 to 1976, Kazys Pėdnyčia worked as an investigator ( tardytojas ) in the Kėdainiai Rayon Public Prosecutor's Office . From 1976 to 1984 he was Deputy Public Prosecutor of the Panevėžys Public Prosecutor's Office and from 1984 to 1991 the Chief Public Prosecutor of the Public Prosecutor's Office for Prison Supervision ( Lietuvos pataisos darbų įstaigų priežiūros prokuratūra ). Kazys Pėdnyčia became judge of the Supreme Court (LR Aukščiausiasis Teismas ) in 1991 and remained so until 1992. He then became Chief Customs Officer ( LR vyriausiasis muitininkas ) in 1992 and then from 1993 to 1997 Deputy Director of the State Security Department ( Valstybės saugumoamentas ). After all, from 1997 to 2000 he was the Prosecutor General of Lithuania. He was dismissed from this office. He then sued the dismissal in court and received LTL 200,000 (approx. 59,000  euros ) as compensation  , but the illegality of the dismissal was not established.

Kazys Pėdnyčia was admitted to the bar in 2001 and has been practicing criminal matters to date.
