Genius Loci is a French computer animation film under the direction of Adrien Merigeau from the year 2019 . The film celebrated its world premiere on January 19, 2020 at the Angers European First Film Festival . It received a special mention from the jury at the Festival du Court-Métrage de Clermont-Ferrand in February 2020 and won the Audi Short Film Award in the Berlinale Shorts section of the same month at the Berlinale .

The young pure, housekeeper and mother of a baby, hears and sees the chaos everywhere, everything changes at lightning speed and reacts in unpredictable ways. The young woman's world of perception is on the screen: a tomato rings like a cell phone, three men approach Reine and suddenly burst into pieces, a woman with a shopping bag starts to burn, a beggar rides a blue horse. In a church, Reine listens to Rosie's organ playing, she praises the music and is offered the opportunity to come to rehearsals for a concert. Reine is confused, Rosie disappears. Now a dog runs through the city and finally jumps through a window into the apartment that was shown at the beginning of the film. The film ends with the sentence, spoken to the dog: Pure, calm down, you alone decide. She is at the center of her search.

Directed by Adrién Méringeau, the conception of the film comes from the director and Nicolas Pleskof. The producer was Amaury Ovise. Production was in the hands of Kazak Productions , Paris , while L'Agence du court-métrage , Paris, is responsible for world sales .

The film celebrated its world premiere on January 19, 2020 at the Angers European First Film Festival . In February 2020 it ran at the Festival du Court-Métrage de Clermont-Ferrand and the Berlinale , there in the Berlinale Shorts section .
