Genlisea repens is a carnivorous species from the genus of trap traps ( Genlisea ), which was first described in 1847 .
description
This semi- aquatic species has narrow, dark green, slightly rounded leaves. The hairless, usually dark brown flower stalk is about 3 to 10 cm long and has small yellow flowers with a long, pointed spur. This species is very similar to Genlisea pygmaea , but the inflorescence of Genlisea repens turns reddish-brown, while that of Genlisea pygmaea usually remains green. Another distinguishing feature is the elongated underground trunk.

This species is found mainly in the shallow waters of South America . The countries Brazil , Venezuela , Guyana , Paraguay and Suriname can count the Genlisea repens among their native flora.
