Gennady Antonovich Radsewski

Gennadi Antonowitsch Radsewski ( Russian Геннадий Антонович Радзевский ; born July 14, 1949 in Porkkala Udd , Finland ) is a Russian vice admiral . From 1998 to 2003 he was commander of the 7th Operational Squadron of the Northern Fleet .

Life

Radsewski studied from 1966 to 1971 at the Faculty of Navigation of the Frunze Sea War College in Leningrad. He began his career as commander of the combat section for navigation (GA-1) on a mine defense vehicle of Project 254. From 1971 he was an officer on watch and from 1972 commander of a mine defense vehicle of Project 1253 of the 94th Brigade of the Tallinn Naval Base of the Baltic Fleet . In 1974 he was employed with the rank of lieutenant captain as the commander of a mine defense vehicle for Project 266-M. From 1976 he served as the 1st officer on the destroyer Speschny of the 12th U-Jagddivision . From 1978 to 1979 he completed higher officer courses and in August 1979 he became the commander of the destroyer Nastojchiwy of the 12th missile cruiser division. From 1982 he was in command of the frigate Druschny . In 1987 he graduated from the Grechko Naval War Academy with distinction. Radzewski was the chief of staff of the 128th U-Fighter Brigade and then as the chief of staff of the 32nd U-Fighter Division of the Baltic Fleet, of which he became commander in 1989. From 1993 to 1995 he attended the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces in Moscow. He initially held the position of Chief of Staff of the 7th Operational Squadron of the Northern Fleet and became its commander in 1998. In 2004 he was released into retirement. Since 2004 he has been a member of the board of directors of the closed stock corporation Absoljut .

He works as an adviser to the chairman of the Committee on Defense Matters of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
