The cooperative bank Weil im Schönbuch eG was founded in 1902 by citizens of Weil im Schönbuch and belongs to its members.

On April 21, 1902, at the invitation of Mayor Hermann Singer, 71 citizens of Weil gathered in the town hall in Schönbuch to found a loan association. For this purpose, the statute of the "Association of Agricultural Cooperatives in Württemberg" was read out and it was agreed that the share should be 100 marks and the quarterly payment of the same amount to 1 mark. The association was formed through the signature of this statute by the 71 attendees. The founding members represented a cross-section of all sections of the population in the community. In addition to the farmers, the wood cutters and craftsmen were many founding members and showed great interest in the establishment of the cooperative in the community.
