Geoffrey Henderson

Geoffrey A. Henderson (born February 4, 1961 ) is a lawyer from Trinidad and Tobago and a judge at the International Criminal Court .

Live and act

Henderson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology after graduating from the University of the West Indies on the Trinidad campus in 1984 . He then went on to study law and obtained a Bachelor of Laws on the Barbados campus in 1987. This was followed by legal training at the Sir Hugh Wooding Law School in Barbados. From 1990 he worked as a public prosecutor in Trinidad and Tobago. In 2002 he became Attorney General of Trinidad and Tobago. In 2009 he moved to the Supreme Court of Trinidad and Tobago as a criminal judge.

In December 2013, Henderson succeeded Anthony Carmona, who was elected President, at the International Criminal Court (ICC). Henderson began his term of office, which is expected to end in 2021, on February 1, 2014. At the ICC, he has been involved in the proceedings against Uhuru Kenyatta , Bosco Ntaganda , Laurent Gbagbo , Charles Blé Goudé and Jean-Pierre Bemba , among others .
