Georg August Zinn Medal
The Georg-August-Zinn-Medal was donated by the Hessian Prime Minister Hans Eichel on October 13th, 1997 in recognition of high merits and in recognition of great commitment in the promotion of culture and art in Hesse. In 2008, the intention of the medal was rededicated in services to the common good in Hesse , in order to give the Prime Minister the opportunity to also honor people and institutions that are involved in funding in other areas, e.g. B. Education, social affairs and sport. Individuals and institutions or several persons and institutions can be honored in one ceremony.
The front of the medal shows the portrait of the former Hessian Prime Minister Georg August Zinn and his name underneath. On the back the Hessian lion is embossed with the inscription for merits to the common good in Hesse. The silver medal has a diameter of 8 cm. When honoring natural persons , a miniature embossing is awarded as a badge. The design of the medal and the miniature is laid down on a sample board.
The award is given once in a calendar year, but at irregular annual intervals. A two-year allocation cycle was aimed for.
