Ursula Carls (born June 21, 1923 in Monschau , died May 18, 2019 ) was a German patron .

Career

Carls was the wife of the entrepreneur Otto Wilhelm Carls , the founder of the correction material manufacturer Tipp-Ex . Together they built up the global sales of their products. After the death of her husband in 1995 and the sale of her shares in the group of companies to the BIC Group , in 1997 she founded the charitable Carls Foundation based in Königstein im Taunus , which she became chairman of. Projects from the fields of education, upbringing, medicine, science and society are funded. The foundation created the conditions for a day care unit in the Clementine Children's Hospital , a premature infants ward in the Bürgerhospital and oncological care and research projects at the Frankfurt University Clinic and the Northwest City Hospital . The lighthouse project of the Carls Foundation - an idea of ​​the founder - called Bärenstark, offers children who have a disabled sibling a two-week break to be in the center of the action.
